GopherSecurity App Quick Start

Use this guide to create a peer-to-peer end-to-end encrypted network that other devices can join to share resources and services. All devices must be connected to the same Gopher Security network.

Sign In/Sign Up

1. Download and install GopherSecurity.
2. Launch the GopherSecurity app and click the menu icon in the upper left corner and select Sign In/Sign Up.

3. Click Sign In if you received an invitation email from your Gopher admin and use your email address and the initial password in the email to sign in OR

4. Click Sign up in the Sign In prompt.

Note: If you are new to Gopher and sign up using GopherSecurity, a root account will be created for you in the Gopher Dashboard that you can use to manage Networks and invite users to join. Refer to the article Sign Up for Gopher Dashboard for instructions on signing in and getting started with the dashboard.

5. Enter your email and password or click "Sign in with Google" to use your Gmail account then select your account.

You will be signed in automatically and presented with the available Networks you can connect to.

Connect to a Network

6. If you have signed up for GopherSecurity then you will see a network named “My First Network”. By default, this Network is attached to the root account.

7. If signed in to GopherSecurity with login info from an invitation you received, you will see the Network that your Gopher admin created.

8. Click Connect to connect to the network.

Congratulations! You have created and/or joined your first peer-to-peer end-to-end encrypted network. Now let's join additional devices and check connectivity.

Join Other Devices

1. From a different computer, download and install GopherSecurity.
2. Sign in using the same account that you signed in with from the first computer.

3. Connect to the same Network as the first computer.

4. To view the local peer settings for the Network you are connected to follow the steps in the screenshots below:

Test Connectivity

Note: Each Gopher Dashboard instance is considered a “Team”. Admins can have multiple Teams with separate subscriptions which can then be dedicated to specific groups of users. Once you install the GopherSecurity app and you have joined to a network from one Gopher instance you can use the Switch Teams feature in the GopherSecurity app to join a network from another Gopher instance.

Switch Teams Using the GopherSecurity App

1. If you are already signed into one Team and new Team has been added to the Gopher Security app that you want to connect to, you will need to logout, and log back in. Then select the team from the available list of teams.

2. Once you have joined two or more teams, the GopherSecurity app will save your team instances and you can switch teams while signed in by clicking the menu in the upper left corner and selecting Switch Team.

3. You will then be presented with your available team login ID’s and can select one to switch teams. (The team login ID in “green” indicates the login ID of the team you are currently logged in with.)
